D L Martin and Partners was founded in 1970 and since then has undertaken a wide range of work, including industrial, hospital and health, residential, commercial and educational projects, as well as a range of special consultancy appointments.
The objective of D L Martin & Partners is to provide a fully comprehensive quantity surveying service in order to achieve our Clients’ requirement of procuring their buildings within an agreed economic balance of function, quality, cost and time.
D L Martin & Partners has built up a well founded reputation for contract administration and procedures which eliminate many of the problems which lead to cost overruns and for working with other members of the Design Team in ensuring that the documentation is comprehensively and closely coordinated.
This enables our Clients to be fully informed of the likely financial outcome of any changes which are under consideration and to be appraised at appropriate intervals of the anticipated financial outcome of the contract.
Cost control of the project is a continuous process from initial feasibility through to detailed cost plan, contract documentation, on-site cost control and final account.
Only by detailed monitoring of all aspects of items giving rise to costs can this be achieved. The philosophy of the firm has always been to anticipate any problem areas so that corrective action can be taken. The firm does not take the passive role of merely reporting on the consequences of decisions taken and money already expended.
D L Martin & Partners has extensive experience in alternative procurement methods from Fast-track Cost Reimbursement to Design and Build contracts and are in a strong position to tailor a procurement route to the individual Client’s requirements.
D L Martin & Partners has two Directors, Stephen Harris and Richard Mossop.
Both are Chartered Quantity Surveyors and Fellows of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Both are also SCSI Accredited Conservation Surveyors
Each project is the direct responsibility of one Director, who carries out the day-to-day management of the contract. In addition, the other Director acts as Senior Assistant and is available as backup director and secondary contact to the Client. This enables the client to have confidence as the control of the project is in the hands of the person with whom he is dealing on a daily basis.
